Town and Gown Seminar Series

The Department of Economics and Development Studies collaborates with the Centre for Economic Policy and Development Research (CEPDeR) to bring another seminar series. This seminar is themed “Internalising Externalities as a Sustainability Strategy“.

The theme seeks to examine approaches to incorporating externalities in decision-making at the firm level. The most dominant externality in the 21st Century is the issue of GreenHouse Gases (GHG). Thus, the seminar will explore examining existing approaches for evaluating the impact of climate change on decision-making and exploring the impact and approaches to the incorporation of climate change.

The speaker for the event is Mr Emebinah Chukwuebuka. Mr Emebinah is a Chartered Accountant and has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He has more than 15 years of combined experience in Audit, Advisory and Management Consulting with indigenous firms and with globally renowned practices. In the course of his work, Ebuka has implemented social advisory projects on Agriculture and Entrepreneurship in Benue and Kogi States in Nigeria and is a founding member of Social Value, West Africa. He is currently a Senior Manager at the Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC), Lagos.
