The Department of Economics and Development Studies and the Centre for Economic Policy and Development Research (CEPDeR) are proud to present the next installment of the CEPDeR Scholar Seminar Series.
This session, themed “Rewarding Allegiance? Political Alignment and Fiscal Outcomes in Local Government,” will delve into the intricate relationship between political dynamics and public finance, which is a critical issue shaping governance and development.
We are honored to host Dr. Samuel Obeng, an accomplished scholar and Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick.
A Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Dr. Obeng brings a wealth of expertise in Political Economy, Public Finance, and Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations, with extensive research and teaching experience across the UK, Ghana, and beyond.
In addition, he is currently consulting on external collaborations with universities in Africa in several areas including curriculum design.
Dr. Obeng holds a PhD in Economics from the University of East Anglia, an MPhil in Economics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a BA in Economics from the University of Cape Coast.
